# What ScholarIQ does

This site is the open reference layer — the papers, researchers, journals and topics themselves. ScholarIQ is the tool that works across them: it takes a research question through search, screening, full-text review and reporting in one place, and keeps every output tied back to the article it came from.

## The four stages

A literature review is the same four steps whether it takes a week or a year. ScholarIQ is built around them rather than around a document editor.

1. **Search and discovery.** Start from a question, a citation or a source document, and turn it into a structured search — expanding terms and following citations outward rather than guessing keywords.
2. **Title and abstract screening.** Studies are prioritised so the most likely includes surface first, with the reviewer's decision the one that counts.
3. **Full-text review and extraction.** Work through the PDFs, tag studies, and capture findings and variables in a consistent shape.
4. **Reporting and exports.** Evidence tables, PRISMA-ready documentation and exports for whatever comes next.

## Why traceability is the point

An answer you cannot check is not evidence. ScholarIQ's summaries and extractions stay attached to the article they were drawn from, so a reviewer can follow any claim back to its source — which is also what makes the output defensible to somebody who was not in the room when it was produced.

That is the same standard this site holds itself to: every figure on it is derived from the published corpus rather than written down by hand.

## What this site adds

The atlas on this domain currently publishes 199,898 pages of public research metadata, cross-linked so you can move from a paper to its authors, their institutions, the journal and the topic without a search box.
